Orion Springfield - Ceiling Renovation

Oculus was engaged to complete laser scanning of existing steel members at Orion Central, Springfield, to support design and fabrication of a new dropped ceiling system. Point Cloud Capture provided dimensional verification of the structural steel framing including member locations, sizes, connection details, and spatial clearances.

The scan data enabled the design team to verify ceiling attachment points, identify clashes between proposed ceiling elements and existing structure, and confirm fabrication dimensions prior to manufacture. The as-built documentation eliminated field measurement errors and design assumptions, reducing rework risk and coordination issues during construction. The scanning deliverable provided time and cost savings in the design phase by establishing verified existing conditions before fabrication commenced.
